2012 Environmental Legislative Symposium
THINK SMALL: Local Solutions to Protect Our Environment, Strengthen Our Communities, and Rebuild Our Economy
JANUARY 28, 2012
Planning and Conservation League (PCL) and PCL Foundation hosted the 2012 Environmental Legislative Symposium at UC Davis. This annual event brought together 201 activists, business leaders, planners, policy and decision makers, activists, students and attorneys.
Expert speakers and decision makers brought current information on environmental issues and innovative policy solutions to the table on water, land use, high speed rail, regulatory reform and more.
Background
While leaders often focus on big solutions — peripheral canals, industrial scale renewables or regional desalination facilities — to solve California’s problems, much can and should be done locally instead. That is why this year the League and Foundation are encouraging everyone to THINK SMALL, focusing on how decisions at the local level are crucial to our environment, communities, and economy.
