Marisa is an environmental policy advocate with a professional background in community planning and engagement. As a community planner, Marisa worked on a variety of long-range projects related to housing, transportation, environmental justice, CEQA, zoning, and land use – primarily working with jurisdictions in the Central Valley and Los Angeles County, where decades of environmental and social injustices still impact communities today. Marisa also spent time as an environmental educator with several organizations including the San Diego Resource Conservation District, Escondido Creek Conservancy, and RISE School Programs to deliver empowering water and habitat conservation programs to elementary school students.
Marisa holds a B.A. in Environmental Systems from UC San Diego and is currently working on her M.S. in Environmental Policy and Management at UC Davis. She is honored to support PCL’s mission of influencing important climate and environmental legislation that protects Californians for generations to come.
